Mnemonics of upper and lower limb anatomy


           


mnemonics  to help you remember the nerves and arteries of the upper and lower limbs:

Upper Limb:

  1. Nerves of the Brachial Plexus:
  • "Robert Taylor Drinks Cold Beer" (Roots, Trunks, Divisions, Cords, Branches)
  1. Arteries of the Arm:
  • "The B ully P unches R eally H ard" (From proximal to distal: Thoracoacromial, Branches of the Axillary, Posterior Humeral Circumflex, Radial, and Brachial)

Lower Limb:

  1. Nerves of the Lumbar Plexus:
  • "Iliohypogastric, Ilioinguinal, Genitofemoral, Lateral femoral cutaneous, Obturator, and Femoral" (the first letter of each nerve spells out "IIGLOF")
  1. Arteries of the Leg:
  • "My Aunt Rose Never Forgets The Post Office" (From proximal to distal: Medial plantar, Anterior tibial, Posterior tibial, Fibular or Peroneal, and Popliteal)
